In case you didn’t know, Warner Bros. has just dropped the new trailers for Wonder Woman 1984. Before you read on, make sure you check it out.

While we agree the trailer is pretty awesome some fans have been left with more questions than answers. Here are some details you might’ve missed in the excellent synth pop-backed, crime-fighting new trailer.

1. Wonder Woman's New Costume

Patty Jenkins’ vision of a Wonder Woman in a Reagan-esque 1980s America has created what some fans are calling the “Screaming Chicken” costume. Complete with wings and reminiscent of a golden angel, Diana sure knows how to rock this fierce costume.

2. Is Cheetah a friend or villain?

In the trailer, we are introduced to Cheetah played by Kirsten Wiig. At first, we see them trading love stories with Diana even opening up about Steve, but later on, we get a taste of what’s to come from Cheetah and it doesn’t look good for Wonder Woman.

3. Don’t forget about the real villain

Despite the introduction of Cheetah, it’s Maxwell Lord who is the real Baddie of this film. In the Wonder Woman comic, he's one of Diana's most talked-about enemies due to his demise: Wonder Woman kills him by breaking his neck. This has quickly become a hotly debated topic among fans: will the movie follow the comic book? We have already seen Superman off an enemy in Man of Steel so let’s see what happens in Wonder Woman 1984.

4. How is Steve Trevor back anyway?

We all remember Steve Trevor from the first Wonder Woman. I mean how can we forget Chris Pine’s doughy eyes? What we might’ve forgotten though is that the first Wonder Woman was set in 1918, and Steve died at the end. Taking all this into consideration fans are already speculating on how Steve Trevor is back in 1984. One theory relates to our villain Maxwell Lord. In the comic, Lord has the power to deceive his rivals by feeding into their utmost desires. The trailer does drop a few hints when Lord says “think about finally having everything you’ve always wanted.” After this, we see Diana reunited with Steve only to hear Lord say “Now, I take what I want in return”. This part of the trailer is likely a set up for the main story-arc of the movie, so let’s wait and see what happens to Steve in the finished product.

5. A throwback to the TV series?

Some of us will remember Lynda Carter flying around in her invisible jet. Well, if the trailer is anything to go by, we’re in for a real treat. Let’s hope this new invisible jet is as great as the “Screaming Chicken” suit.

6. Ride The Lightning

As Diana Prince is the daughter of Zeus we often see her riding lightning in the comic books. What makes this special is that the new movie is set in 1984 the very same year that Metallica released the album Ride the Lightning. Fans are already speculating a perfect match for the movie soundtrack.

7. Blue Monday

Another great song from the upcoming movie is a remix of Blue Monday by New Order. This song was pretty iconic in the early 1980s and was the perfect song to backdrop all of that big-hair eighties fashion. Fans of the era are in for a real treat with this movie

8. Trevor’s Ranch

A nice easter egg found in the trailer is a photo of Diana standing in front of Trevor’s Ranch. This has left fans wondering if Trevor’s Ranch belongs to Steve’s family or maybe Diana decided to buy her own ranch and name it after her long lost love.

Wonder Woman 1984 arrives on June 5, 2020.
