Since making his debut in November 2019 in the Mandalorian TV Series, Baby Yoda has been a sensation, especially on the internet. A younger and cuter version of the ancient Jedi Master, Yoda, and this cute character has been the talk of the internet for months. Still, it is unclear to the fans what exactly Baby Yoda is? As far as we know, this cute baby is the same species as Yoda which was first introduced in the 1980 film, The Empire Strikes Back. But the thing is, Yoda’s species were never given the name of a back story. All we know so far is they are smallish green aliens who are extremely force-sensitive.

Is Baby Yoda a clone?

The Baby Yoda clone theory suggests that the Mandalorian’s client, Dr. Pershing is actually a cloning scientist, based on the symbols indicated on his uniform. This might hint that this cure little alien was created on the Kamino, a facility where the clone troopers were made. However, in Episode 7 of the show, Kuiil comments that Baby Yoda does not look like he’s been engineered.

So far, Baby Yoda is only known as “The Child.” However, it is said that we are going to find out eventually. According to Disney CEO Bob Iger, that it's not Yoda, nor is it George (after Star Wars creator George Lucas, we assume). In the previous Star Wars film, everyone knows that Yoda’s species are naturally strong with the Force as Yoda himself had an incredibly successful career as a Jedi master. In the series, the Child has displayed great Force sensitivity, which allows him to levitate items like a giant Mudhorn and help Mando when is backed up against a wall.

Aside from that, Baby Yoda can also do the Force-choke maneuver that Darth Vader showed off in the original Star Wars movie. In the seventh episode, Mando has to call him off when he tries to go after Cara Dune when he thought she's trying to hurt Mando in an arm-wrestling match. Similarly, Baby Yoda was also seen to have healing powers and can heal wounds simply by touching it. However, his powers usually wear him out.

There is also something valuable inside the cute little guy that the villains want to extract. In fact, the Mandalorian was sent out to find him and turn him over. However, Mando turned to protect The Child.

Is he really a baby?

Baby Yoda is 50 which is considered an infant in this species. These species are believed to enjoy long lifespans, Yoda trained Jedi for 800 years, finally peacefully dying at the age of 900 in the 1983's Return of the Jedi.

Even non-Star Wars fans were made to go whenever they see Baby Yoda. Whether he’s sleeping, drinking soup, or even eating a frog creature alive – The Child can absolutely make you fall in love.

In the series, however, Baby Yoda has provided a big pivot for our protagonist Mando, who decided to break the Bounty Hunters’ Guild’s code in order to save the child from the Client. In episode 3, Mando takes the reward and the bounty with him to parts unknown. Thus, this only makes Mando the most wanted man in the galaxy.
