Disney
Fans, well we all finally have waited it coming: the trailer for the final series of the Skywalker Saga. While watching the trailer, we get a theme of the movie: The Rise of Skywalker. Having Known that Luke Skywalker seemed to run out of his power buy at the end of The Last Jedi, we feel confused about which Skywalker is going to rise. Will Luke go back to his life? Will we discover Rey's true parentage? Or does the theme “The Rise of Skywalker” mean something else? — and much harder to imagine?
Lando's back
Disney
Lando, a character who could attract a lot of attention by two mainline movies' fans, eventually proves to return in The Rise of Skywalker. It is a piece of good news for those fans, who have constantly wondered where Lando hid and whether he could show up or not. His right last performance shown in fans’ sight was 36 years ago at the end of Return of the Jedi. When he sat in the plane as a pilot with his co-pilot Nien Nunb, this time, he will come back with his new partner, Chewbacca, who accompanies him on a jump from hyperspace. Where will they fly to? A short scene seems that they are going to Cloud City.
Surely, Lando has shown again since Jedi in the movie : 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story. Lando then was acted by Donald Glover instead of Williams. As for the profile, Lando hasn’t changed. In the movie, Williams looks like dressed in the same (or at least a very similar) yellow-and-black costume as the one Glover wore in the prequel. Perhaps the costume symbolizes his coming back to his former personality? Maybe the costume typically represents his character, which lets new fans know him.
Dark Helmet lives
Disney
In the trailer, there is a mysterious scene, where a strange figure has put the pieced helmet together. The helmet -- belonging to Kylo Ren, which makes us wonder undoubtedly who this hairy person is and why he would do this. Or the helmet contains some magical power?
In The Force Awakens, when Kylo Ren wears the mask, then he becomes to be the one he wanted to be. He was confused about his true identity. His grandfather, Darth Vader, was once the helper of Dark Lord. His mother tried to keep it a secret from him. But he chose to wear it to be the man who he was eager to be as an outward symbol. In The Last Jedi, though, Kylo Ren tore up the mask fiercely. His whole character was mainly drown in the confusion about who he was, and suffering from considering his choice. Rey tried to bring him back to the light side, and he wavered actually. There still remains some part of Ben Solo in his body.
But in the end, he chose to be one of the members in the dark side. And he was named to be Jedi Killer because of his great potential. Once he wore the mask, he was actually Kylo Ren, not Ben Solo. Kylo Ren, the inheritor of his grandfather, Darth Vader's — and the mask is an symbol of the figure who he has finally chosen to be.
Dead Star
Disney
During the series of STAR WAR, there has appeared many dead stars, which were used as the super weapons. In the series so far, we've learned only two super-weapons: one in the first Star Wars, which was blown up at the Battle of Yavin, and another in Return of the Jedi, which was blown up with the Emperor on board above the forest moon of Endor.
Small plots passing in the trailer suggest that it might be the wreckage is of the second Death Star. But the thick mist makes it look more like the first Death Star, the Yavin IV, where the original Rebels first made their base. Of course, in the series Star Wars, it might not be the Death Star we’ve known before. Maybe it could be the other super weapons or something we’ll first spot on screen. However, it looks cool, at least.
The last laugh
Disney
When the trailer comes to the end, the screen becomes black, coming with an evil laugh in the end. Old fans may recognize that the sound probably belongs to Emperor Palpatine's.
How could a dead person return? Please listen the story about him: A long time ago, in a battle, Palpatine was hit and his spirit comes out of his body.It seems that he won’t come back again. But as multiple films have proven, nobody in Star Wars has ever truly been dead, because of the narrative demand. Do you think it may be a coincidence when Luke ever says "No one's ever really gone."? His words confirms to be true silently.
